The Ontology

Unlike traditional data lakes that store raw rows and columns, Palantir Foundry creates a digital twin of the organization. Raw data is mapped to Objects (e.g., Planes, Pilots, Parts) and Relations. This allows decision-makers to interact with business logic instead of SQL queries.

Object-Relation Graph (Foundry)

The graph shows how disparate data points (dots) are dynamically unified into semantic objects (hexagons), allowing for real-time operational awareness.

AIP: AI in Action

Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) allows LLMs to interact with the security-hardened Foundry Ontology. It doesn't just "chat"—it takes actions. AIP can suggest a logic-driven plan based on real-time inventory and logistics, then execute it via external systems with a human-in-the-loop.

Gotham & Titan

Where Foundry focuses on enterprise operations, Gotham is built for defense and intelligence. At its core is Titan, a multi-domain ontology that integrates signals intelligence (SIGINT), geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), and human intelligence (HUMINT) into a single, cohesive operating picture.

Titan Knowledge Graph

Observe how multi-source intelligence pulses converge to form actionable intelligence in the Titan ontology.

The Edge & Apollo

Modern software must run where the data is—sometimes on a factory floor or a deep-sea submersible. Apollo is the orchestration layer that provides continuous deployment and automated health management across every conceivable environment, from the cloud to the extreme edge.

Apollo Edge Propagation

The center node (Apollo) pushes software updates (pulses) to decentralized edge environments, maintaining state consistency across the global mesh.

The Search for Truth: Security & Privacy

Data without trust is dangerous. Palantir's engineering philosophy centers on Purpose-Based Access Control (PBAC). Every piece of data is tagged with its origin and purpose, ensuring that only individuals with a "need to know" can access sensitive information, with a full audit trail of every interaction.
